I used the word victim, as I could not bring myself to use the word casualty. Anyway, I am referring to Datacash, a payment service providing entity. The top officials of the company said that as of now, they could not and would not quantify the effects of this new piece of legislation.
Still, the entity admits that thirty percent of their earnings come from the United States, and these have come from forty-five percent in December of last year. The ironic thing is, according to their spokesperson, the company has never supported sportsbook wagering coming in from the USA, but see...they still got affected. Their "battleplan approach" is this: to cut down their dependence on American gaming, as the growth profile of
non-American gaming in the past year was at 74 percent, whereas the US gaming profile is at twenty-six percent. The company's insiders said that it is only to be expected that very soon, gaming operators would venture into other business lines, as a result of the prohibitions. Also, they say that one projected consequence of the bill is the coming in of new oppurtunities in their non-American processing. (I can't help but be impressed with their positive thinking...I doubt if they would be saying these exact things if they were running a poker online room.)
